On March 30, 2007, a friend and I rode through the desert on back roads, eventually stopping in the little town of Cave Creek which is several miles north of Scottsdale, Arizona. As usual, the scenery along the way was outstanding and it was a beautiful sunny day just made for riding. The Arizona Bike Week rally was underway, so we saw hundreds of riders on every road we took. The folks attending the rally tended to fill up all of the restaurants, but we managed to find rood at The Horny Toad. I am not sure where the name came from, but there were no toads on the menu.

On the return trip, we stopped at another of Arizona's beautiful lakes, Lake Saguaro. It's close proximity to Scottsdale and Phoenix make it a popular destination for water-sports minded folks. The stop here reminded me that I haven't been kayaking in some time. I will take care of that when I return to Cottonwood Cove next week.

Here are some photos of the area traversed on this excursion.  Enjoy.
